CPU cost for queries

the test was run (Aug 8, 2013) to determine average CPU cost for queries, and qserv master (eg. how much cpu is needed to run simple query, to do join, to return results from query etc.

Machine used: lsst-dbdev3.ncsa.illinois.edu

  • 8 cores
  • model name : Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5410 @ 2.33GHz
  • cpu MHz : 2327.252
  • cache size : 6144 KB

Data set used: 1 million rows based on W13-stripe 82 data, with some columns duplicated as needed, tables used: 7 columns (a.ka. forcedSource), 50, 100, 150, 200, 250 columns, mostly a mix of doubles and floats

Results are captured in the attached spreadsheet.
