LSST Apps WG meeting 1/13/2010

Schuyler led the meeting for Robert, who is in Japan for two weeks.
1) Design Reviews (Gregory):
Plan to hold design reviews over the next 6 weeks so can affect DC3b development. Will do mostly electronically (possibly use GoToMtg?) or perhaps consolidated in a longer face to face meeting. Camera Classes and Multifit reviews were already held – will review and publish actions from these reviews. Other possible review topics are: Coadds and template generation, Deep detection, Database schema and planned access tools, Photometric calibration, Astrometric calibration, PSF modeling, framework “lite”, Meas code tree.
The design reviews would confirm, are we doing the right thing, and are we implementing it correctly. The developer in each case should probably be the person who presents to the review.
Jon Myers (MOPS) and Andy Becker (Diff-Im) volunteered that they were ready for a review.
It was suggested that a group of reviewers go to the partner sites to hold the review face-to-face. Gregory will consider this.
2) Status (All):
Collected status from those on the line. Steve will make a new version of AFW and put it on the system today. KT has all necessary stages. He does not know if they work well together yet.
A request was made to use new wcs (v4.4.4), instead of the old. There was a request for a boost upgrade, and also for swig, but this could wait till after DC3b.
Suzy asked if there were any impediments to getting the work done, and none were expressed.
